Formally,
students' writing should be in the British academic
style of Tolkien. (For example, they should use abundantly the connectives indicated in Task
1.)
POINTS: 0
= the style is not academic, too few connectives;
1 = the paper seems
written by Tolkien (almost).
Content-wise,
the Report should be marked as follows.
POINTS:
1 = There is a clear
enunciation of the hypotheses*; 0 = the
hypotheses* are only summarized vaguely.
(*Before interrogating
their Trinity subjects, students must formulate hypotheses about
their cultural mindset.)
POINTS:
1 = There is a detailed account of subject's responses.;
0 = only the “general idea” of each
response is given.
POINTS: 1 = There is a convincing
justification for confirming or disproving the hypotheses; 0
= the student gives opinions but few justifications for those
opinions.
POINTS:
1 = The student concludes by
indicating how s/he should speak English in future conversations with
American college students, using the
cultural knowledge acquired through the present experiment.
1 = the student does not seem to know how to use the
cultural knowledge acquired to improve the way s/he uses English
with people from that culture.
