Servizi Estero was founded in 1982 with a vision to provide a full circle of linguistic services to businesses.

Our area of expertise covers Corporate language and communication training and specialist translation services. Our position in Milan has allowed us to witness and participate directly in the evolution of a new multiethnic Italian business society: people are travelling more and the number of client companies and people working or settling down in foreign countries, in search of better jobs or better living conditions, is increasing all the time.

Therefore the Servizi Estero team is a multicultural team composed of people from different countries working closely together to provide effective support for Italian companies that have or are going to set up international contacts and open up markets abroad and, conversely, facilitate the approach to Italian language and culture to foreign companies and expatriates doing business in Italy.



Interesse nella comunicazione interculturale / Interest in intercultural communication: 
The intercultural approach and its importance in language learning has always been neglected. Now however, there is the awareness that intercultural understanding enables language proficiency. Second language teachers vouch for this and say that by relating our own culture to that of the second language we will understand it better and learn it better.

Along with the languages skills taught in our courses for businesses, our training projects also integrate workshops specifically aimed at informing the participants about differences that can create misunderstandings and jeopardize the outcome of interaction and communication with other cultures.



Ciò che vorrei dalla SIETAR-Italia / What I would like to gain from SIETAR-Italia:  
Stemming from our own personal experience of the joys and perils of intercultural relationships, we would like to foster high quality training packages combining language and interculture to help expats and foreign students to:

Along with the languages skills taught in our courses for managers, sales personnel and technicians that travel abroad, or for foreign personnel living in Italy, our lesson plans will integrate more and more possibly country-specific training workshops specifically aimed at informing the participants about differences that can create misunderstandings and jeopardize the outcome of a business trip or negotiation abroad.



Ciò che posso offrire ai membri della S.I. / What I can offer members of S.I.: 
We can offer Sietar our co-operation and suggestions concerning the needs of businesses in terms of approaching diverse cultures and help them to develop workshops that suit the expectations of corporate mentality.

At the same time we can foster intercultural awareness and the need to be more “conscious about diversity” among corporate personnel and management people. .
